privacy policy

Effective Date: June 1, 2025

Muzikey (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) has established the following processing policy in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act to protect users’ personal information and rights and to smoothly handle users’ complaints regarding personal information.

1. Purpose of processing personal information

The company processes personal information for the following purposes. Personal information being processed will not be used for purposes other than the following, and if the purpose of use changes, necessary measures will be taken, such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

1) Membership registration and management
2) Service provision
3) Use in marketing and advertising
4) Complaints and grievances handling

2. Processing and retention period of personal information

1) When collecting personal information from the data subject, the company processes and retains the personal information within the period of retention and use of the personal information agreed to or within the period of retention and use of the personal information stipulated by law.
2) The processing and retention period for each personal information is as follows:

- Membership registration and management: Until membership withdrawal
- Performance of contract for provision of services: Until the end of the contract
- Records of complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years

3. Items of personal information processed

The company processes the following personal information:

1) Required fields: Email, nickname, password
2) Optional: Profile photo, age range, preferred genre, instruments played, career history
3) Automatically collected items: IP address, cookies, MAC address, service usage history, visit history, bad usage history, etc.

4. Provision of personal information to third parties

The company processes the personal information of the data subject only within the scope specified in Article 1 (Purpose of processing personal information), and provides personal information to third parties only in cases corresponding to Articles 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act, such as consent from the data subject or special provisions of the law.

5. Entrustment of personal information processing

In order to process personal information smoothly, the company entrusts the processing of personal information as follows:

1) Cloud service provider
- Trustee: Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, etc.
- Contents of entrusted work: Operation and management of domestic and international cloud servers where personal information is stored
- Consignment period: Until membership withdrawal or termination of consignment contract

6. Rights and obligations of the information subject and methods of exercising them

The data subject may exercise the following personal information protection rights against the company at any time:

1) Request for notification of personal information processing status
2) Request to suspend personal information processing
3) Request for correction or deletion of personal information
4) Claim for damages

7. Destruction of personal information

The company destroys personal information without delay when the personal information becomes unnecessary, such as when the retention period for personal information expires or the processing purpose is achieved.

1) Destruction Procedure: The information entered by the user is transferred to a separate DB after the purpose is achieved and stored for a certain period of time or destroyed immediately in accordance with internal policies and other relevant laws.
2) Method of destruction: Information in electronic file format is destroyed using a technical method that renders the records unrecoverable.

8. Measures to ensure the security of personal information

In accordance with Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act, the Company is taking the following technical/administrative and physical measures necessary to ensure security:

1) Minimizing and training personal information handling staff
2) Restricting access to personal information
3) Use of encryption techniques to safely store and transmit personal information
4) Technical measures to prevent hacking, etc.
5) Storage of access records and prevention of falsification of personal information processing systems, etc.

The company is responsible for overall management of personal information processing and has designated a personal information protection officer as follows to handle complaints and provide remedies for damages from data subjects related to personal information processing:

11. Changes to the Personal Information Processing Policy

This privacy policy is effective from the date of enforcement, and in case of additions, deletions, or corrections to the contents due to changes in laws and policies, notice will be given through a notice 7 days prior to enforcement of the changes.

This policy is effective as of June 1, 2025.
